In 1997 Doctor Aser Seara Vázquez edonated a valuable collection of religious art he had been collecting since 1960 to the Foundation which bears his name. Subsequently, the Culture and Tourism Board of the Xunta de Galicia (Galicia Regional Government), Allariz Town Council and the Foundation collaborated in the creation of the Iconographic Museum, which was opened to the public in the spring of 2000.
